Summer weather in Vienna, Munich, and Paris

We visited Vienna, Munich, and Paris in May 2008 and have been tracking the weather in those cities since well before our departure date. One of the things that surprised us was the high temperatures (in the low 30s celsius) in some of those cities (especially Vienna) from June through August. Considering the general lack of air conditioning in most modestly priced European hotels and other locations, we`re very glad we made our trip when we did. Other travelers would be well-advised to start tracking weather well in advance of their departure date, and if you have the flexibility to travel in spring or fall you may find yourself rewarded with comfortable temperatures and less crowding at popular tourist venues. That`s not always the case. Even in mid-May lines were so long in Paris at the Eiffel Tower and at Notre Dame tower, that we passed.
A personal side note, for what it`s worth: Paris temperatures generally seem to be a couple degrees cooler than Vienna or Munich.
