BUDDHA VIHAR

 Buddha Vihar - Sirpur is well -known for its Budha Vihar . They have a blend of gupta dynasty temple and residential house. A six ft tall statue of Buddha touching the earth in installed inside the vihar here . The place is also known as themeeting apoint of Awlokiteshwar and Makarwahini Ganga . The inscriptions on the vihars have been done by a buddhist flower Bhikshu Anandpasrbhu during the period of Mhashivgupt Balasrajun. The geteway has stone pllars engraved with dwarpals on either side . The excavations have revealed another vihar ,the Swastic vihar. Apart from the stone carved statues , there are also metal idols telated to Buddhism are found.
