Amarkantak: Overview
Amarkantak a great pilgrim cetner for Hindus. It is in the shaudol district. Amarkantak is situated at an attitudes 1065 me in the Vindhyas (n) . The rivers Narmada and sox son (hiranyuababhu) take their rise from here, Amarkantak has an absorbing scenic beauty. About a 12 ancient temples, including that of Nurmada of 10th - 11th centuty built by kalachuri rulers are still preserved here. Photos
