Sonamarg 80 kms from Srinagar, enroute to Ladakh situated 3,000 metres above sea level. Sonamarg is dramatic in its breath taking beauty. Surround by mountains, with a hill spur running the length of the settlement.

WHAT TO SEE : Sonamarg meadow of gold, is sheer scenic splendour. The very way-ametall road-sankes through massive mountains laden
with forests and firs. Across the op¬posite slope is a natural garden of wild flowers, and close at hand, the Thaji was glacier. The valley opens up to a meadow. Kangan and gund are two important halts enroute. The valley is ringed by moutains scaling 5,300 metres. Dotted with camping sites, the climp to the top is sufficient reason to merit a visit to the resort. Sonamarg has a string of shimmer¬ing water falls.
