Pahalgam: Overview
Pahalgam 96 kms from Srinagar, ideally situated at the junc¬tion of the lidder and sheshnag streams and deep in thick pine and fir covered mountains, this valley is very attractive. Pahalgam means a sheperds village, it has grown in to a hill resort. There are exhilarating trees in the forest and very good fishing is available in the mountains streams Pahalgam is also a base for the pilgrimage to the sacred beauti¬ful wood lands and alpine meadows of its side valley.
