Mandu the city of joy faumed for stories of the love of the poet king Baz Bahadur, for his Rani Rupamati, Originally the capital of the Hindus formar kings . Mandu was first founded in the 6th century AD by a Rajput warrior prince who named it Mandva, Ruling dynasty of Guptas. In the 13th Century if cence under the Sway of the Sultans of Malwa who called it SHADIABAD. Sultans Ruled Mandu from 905 AD to 1561 AD .After mughals from 1561 to 1732 AD, AD and Marathas from 1732 AD and afterwards.
The Hill- fort of Mandu about 35 kms South of Dhar, Perched along the Vindhyan Ranges. The hill rises 633.7 meters above sea-level . the City of hoy and indeed , the pervading spirit of Mandu was of gaiety, and its Rulers built exquisite palaces like the Jahaz and Hindola Mahals. Ornaments cenels, bathes palaces and pavillions, cell on an architectual Gern in the Afghan Syle, and mosques and tombs of great beauty built by them, The last of the city's Independent rulers was the Romantic poet - king Baz Bahadav, about whom balladeers still siny and who has defeated by the Maughal Emperor Akbar. and the glory of Mandu lives on, in its palaces and mosques, leagends and songs - chrohadnic posterity.
