This town is situted on this banks of river Narmada, the town was founted by Mandana Mishra, and has a stone fort consteucted by Mahammedan Rulers, It also has a fine flishh of 123 steps leading down to the river and expanding below into a wide Ghat , Tukoji Raw Holkar Ibuilt a place here in 1844-1880 AD If you was also the head Quart - es of the Nimar Agency and Canto-meent under the British from 1819 to 1864 AD , The town is an importent retair market and trade centre.
