Jamnagar 308 kms from Ahmedabad, 145 kms from Rajkot,. Is referred as Jewel of Kathiawad. Jamnagar was the capital of Jadeja Rajputs, founded in 1540 by Jam Raval. The princely town is named after his Highness Jamsaheb, the former ruler. Jamnagar is an impotant naval and airbase. Two great cricket¬ers Ranji and Duleep were the princes of this state.
