In the 1635 Jaisalmer became part of largest dominion held by Bhati chiefs themselves Vessels of the Delhi empire was one of the last state of Rajputana to be taken under the protection of the British Government in 1818 AD. Over the era, the remote location of Jaisalmer kept it almost untouched by outside influences and even during the days of the British Raj, Jaisalmer was the last to sign the instrument of the agreement with the British.
