Dharmasala has a chilly freezing winters; minimum mercury level is nearly 4°C. Snowfall in winters (especially January) are notorious here with blocking many roads with poor visibility. One can see snows on the hilly areas even during February and also during November. Monsoon (July to September) seasons with heavy rainfalls are messy. Summers (March to June) are pleasant with temperature between 22°C to 38°C.

Best season to visit this holy place is March to June and September-October. The trekking season starts from May and goes on to October in Dharmasala.
