Dalhousie: Overview
Dalhousie is one such hill station, nestle( on the spur at the Western end o Dauladhar Dalhousie in its present shap( was founded in 1850 when the British ac quired five hills (Kathalagh, Potreyn, Teral' ( Now called Mots Tibba by the locals,' Bakrota and Bhangora). Since the estate was founded in the time of Lord Dalhousie. The Sanitorium was recommended to be called Dalhousie by Sir Donald Mchoed. Dalhousie was made a part of Kangra Dis- trict of Punjab state. Later it was trans- ferred to the Guradaspur District in August 1861, only after reorganisation of the state, Dalhousie became a part of Chamba Dis- trict of Himachal Pradesh on 1st Novem- ber, 1966.
