Chitrakoot Travel Guide

This quite little place is very much part of the epic Ramayana. Chitrakut or the hill of many wonders" this is Hindu pilgrimage centre. It is belived to be the place where Lord Rama and Sita spent their 14 years of exile and where the sages Atri and Sati anusuya medited. The holy town is set in Sylvan surround ings on the banks of the river Mandakini. The river side is tined with ghats and the town dotted with temples dedicated to several deities of the Hindupan theon.
